Success cases in our region

COUNTRIES THAT MANAGE TO GENERATE A SIGNIFICANT LEAP IN THEIR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ARE THOSE THAT, THROUGH FAMILY BUSINESSES, IDENTIFY STRATEGIC OPPORTUNITIES AND ARTICULATE WITH THE PUBLIC SECTOR TO GENERATE LONG-TERM POLICIES FOR THEIR IMPLEMENTATION.

Dominican Republic

In the Dominican Republic, free zones are the most important system for attracting investment, generating employment and promoting exports.

Users of free zones enjoy exemptions from import duties, tariffs, customs duties, and other related taxes on goods destined for the construction, equipping, and operation of free zones. The economic success of Dominican family businesses is due to the favorable environment created by free zones for international business expansion and access to tax incentives to boost their growth.

Peru

In Peru, they focused on agro-industrial development through the diversification of products in the agricultural sector. The consolidation of export volume was possible thanks to the association with small producers, who generated large-scale agriculture. The search to invest in innovative development sectors evolved non-traditional agro-exports and positively impacted the promotion of employment in the agricultural labor regime.

Mexico

Maquila became Mexico's main gateway to the global market. The Border Industrialization Program (Programa de Industrialización Fronteriza, PIF) allowed the importation of machinery, equipment, and components from the United States duty-free, with the stipulation that these items be processed and then re-exported, also that the equipment be exported when no longer needed.

The development of maquila had evident positive effects on the Mexican economy, both micro and macroeconomic. This promoted the creation of jobs, increased exports, and the modernization and diversification of the Mexican industry.
